The IPCC today released the Summary for Policy Makers of its Working Group II Report on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability. The OECD welcomes this important study, which underscores the need for strengthened policy to limit the impacts of climate change.

An OECD project has been launched on the valuation of environment-related health impacts for children. An original survey instrument will be applied in three OECD countries (United Kingdom, Italy and the Czech Republic). This survey will be developed to provide estimates of WTP for risk reductions to adult and child populations which will allow for cross-country comparisons.

For the last 30 years, analysis of the inner workings of the firm has been largely absent from economic assessments of environmental policy. Recent work has highlighted the importance of understanding a firm’s commercial motivations, decision-making procedures and organizational structure when designing and implementing public environmental policies.
