The paper describes and assesses pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement policies in Switzerland, in the context of the broader policy and market environment. Trends in Severe Disability Among Elderly People: A new OECD Health Working Paper

The OECD has released a new OECD Health Working Paper from the Disability Trends Among Older Populations and the Implications for Long-Term Care project. This paper assesses the most recent evidence on trends in disability among the population aged 65 and over in 12 OECD countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. The focus is on reviewing trends in severe disability (or dependency), defined where possible as one or more limitations in basic activities of daily living.

Valuation of environment-related health impacts for children (VERHI) project

An OECD project has been launched on the valuation of environment-related health impacts for children. An original survey instrument will be applied in three OECD countries (United Kingdom, Italy and the Czech Republic). This survey will be developed to provide estimates of WTP for risk reductions to adult and child populations which will allow for cross-country comparisons.

Update of the Development Centre's Gender, Institutions and Development Data Base

It is a new tool to help researchers and policy makers determine and analyse obstacles to women’s economic development. The GID is also now available through the OECD's on-line statistical database (OECD.Stat).

The Social Dimension of Environmental Policy (Policy Brief)

Is it true that environmental policies hit the pockets of poorer households harder than those of wealthier ones? And that the poor receive less of the benefit of such policies as they are more likely to live closer to industry or hazardous waste treatment plants and further from parks or the countryside? This is a widespread perception, and in many cases one that is supported by the available evidence.
