OECD Invited Comment on Draft Revision of its Corporate Governance Principles

The OECD invited public comment on a draft of the revision of its Principles of Corporate Governance that were adopted by OECD governments in 1999. This follows a request from OECD governments for reinforcement of the Principles in response to recent corporate scandals.

IOSCO's (International Organization of Securities Commissions ) Emerging Markets Committee Recommend OECD Principles of Corporate Governance

The IOSCO Emerging Markets Committee adopted a resolution on corporate governance which recognizes that effective corporate governance is essential to the development of robust, well-regulated capital markets". It also recommends that members use the OECD Principles as a benchmark.

OECD Ministerial Communiqué Emphasises Importance of Good Corporate Governance.

Ministers agreed that the assessment of the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance should be brought forward from 2005 to 2004. They also highlighted the importance and success of OECD-World Bank co-operation in the area of corporate governance.
