OECD will release its latest GDP and inflation projections for the Euro area, Japan and the United States at 11.00 a.m Paris time (10.00 GMT) on Thursday 13 November 2008. The complete Economic Outlook will be presented on 25 November 2008. Watch press conference LIVE.

OECD countries and industry must do more to crack down on fraud and waste in government contracts, such as building new schools and roads, that cost taxpayers billions of dollars every year, says OECD. These are among the recommendations in the new Principles for Enhancing Integrity in Public Procurement, part of a broader initiative to tackle corruption and improve governance.

Some 16 new bilateral agreements on exchange of information for tax purposes signed this week between OECD countries and the British Virgin Islands, Guernsey and Jersey mark an important step forward in efforts to bring greater transparency to cross-border financial transactions. OECD countries have been working with financial centres around the world since 2000 to bring greater transparency and accountability to cross-border transactions.
