Suspension of maritime transport activities

The OECD has suspended its work on maritime transport.  The last meeting of the Maritime Transport Committee was held in May 2005 and no work has been undertaken since that date. All reports, documents and statistics that have been declassified for public release are still available on the OECD web site, but they will no longer be updated.

OECD Workshop on Maritime Transport, 4-5 November 2004

The general aim of the Workshop was to identify maritime transportation issues that need to be addressed by government and industry to ensure a secure and efficient environment for the industry.  The Workshop provided an opportunity for decision makers from government and industry to assess the effectiveness of past actions, and to consider what still needs to be done. The Workshop was intended to bring together the members of the OECD’s Maritime Transport Committee, its non-member partners and industry.

Outcome of the Maritime Transport Committee Meeting - May 2004

The Maritime Transport Committee met on 24-25 May 2004.  Discussions focussed on the Committee’s work on security in maritime transport, safety and the environment, the Committee’s 2005/2006 Programme of Work, and the Dialogue with non-member economies.
