This report presents the results of a 2008 survey on how OECD countries set Pesticide Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs). It includes: • a summary of the issues raised in the countries’ responses; • matrices based on the responses, which list the national authorities responsible for establishing MRLs and approving pesticide products, describe the types of MRLs established, and assess the impact on MRL harmonisation; and • the individual responses from countries.

A guidance document for using the OECD (Q)SAR Application Toolbox to fill data gaps for acute aquatic toxicity is now available. The (Q)SAR Application Toolbox is a software application intended to be used by governments, industry and other stakeholders to fill gaps in (eco)toxicity data needed for assessing the hazards of chemicals. This new document specifically provides guidance on how to use the Toolbox to group chemicals to fill data gaps for acute aquatic toxicity of chemicals.

Version 1.1.02 of the OECD (Q)SAR Application Toolbox is now available. It can be downloaded free of charge. This Toolbox is a software application intended to be used by governments, the chemical industry and other stakeholders to fill gaps in (eco)toxicity data needed for assessing the hazards of chemicals. With this Toolbox, a user can fill data gaps by read-across and trend analysis, group chemicals into categories and gain access to a library of (Q)SAR models.
