The rollout of broadband Internet connectivity has allowed telecommunication, cable and satellite operators to offer an increasingly similar service blend of video, voice and data to subscribers. This paper sets out to provide an overview of developments across OECD countries in multiple play (triple play) services and some of the policy issues which may appear as more operators offer converged services. The analysis covers 87 firms in the 30 OECD countries. The appendix offers package and pricing details for 2-3 providers in each country.

This report analyses the disclosure issues raised by technically‑imposed restrictions on the use of digital content. It focuses on the application of copy control and digital rights management technologies in three areas: copy-protected CDs; online music, and DVD regional coding. In each of these areas, the report examines the kinds of restrictions that are commonly placed on usage of the products (for example, restrictions on making back-ups or private copies) and assesses the adequacy of the information that is provided to consumers concerning such restrictions.

This report provides an overview of ICT skills and employment across OECD economies and analyses some of the impacts on economic performance. It presents a new approach to capturing the diffusion of ICTs in the economy. Two measures of ICT-skilled employment are developed, of ICT specialists and a broad measure capturing those people who use ICTs intensively to do their work (both basic and advanced intensive users), as well as specialists.
