New LEED members – Australia and the Netherlands

Australia joined the LEED Programme in January 2009. Australia is represented on the LEED Directing Committee by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relation (DEEWR).

The Netherlands joined the LEED Programme in January 2009. The Netherlands is represented on the LEED Directing Committee by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW).

Round Table on the Impact of the Global Crisis on SME and Entrepreneurship Financing and Policy Responses: 26-27 March 2009

A two day Round Table was held under the auspices of the OECD Working Party on SMEs and Entrepreneurship (WPSMEE) in Turin, Italy on 26 and 27 March 2009 at the invitation of the Banca Intesa Sanpaolo. The round table aimed to promote a tri-partite dialogue among governments, SMEs and financial institutions, on possible measures to help SMEs and entrepreneurs through the crisis and suggest recommendations. It will be a basis for the WPSMEE's input into the OECD Strategic Response to the Financial and Economic Crisis.

LEED Reviews of City and Regional Development Agencies

This study provides an agency or city with the opportunity to have progress reviewed by an international team of experts, to have their successes and good practices documented and widely disseminated, and to have a peer review process, involving both individual experts and practitioners, and the representatives of OECD member governments. Cities and development agencies interested in participating in these reviews are invited to contact the OECD Secretariat.

LEED Project on Designing Local Skills Strategies

Low skills represent a considerable risk in today’s knowledge economy, and local level stakeholders are increasingly becoming important players in addressing skills issues.  LEED is currently examining ten case studies of innovative practice in designing local skills strategies from East Asia, Europe, Australasia and North and South America.
