Summary report of the 2007 Annual DevCom Meeting

In November 2007, the members of the Informal Network of DAC Development Communicators met in Lisbon for two days of brainstorming about the current state and future of development communication. The summary report gives an overview of the discussions and projects for the coming year.

Public campaigns about the MDGs since 2003

After a slow start, public awareness about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is rising steadily in OECD countries, especially where publicity campaigns are run. Our study of three OECD countries shows that successful MDG campaigns are long-term, funded adequately, and involve local authorities, civil society organisations and the private sector.

DevCom Network: 2007 Annual Meeting

How can the results and effectiveness of development cooperation be better communicated by donors? The participants of the 19th Annual Meeting of the DevCom Network will deal with different dimensions of this question on 6 and 7 November 2007 in Lisbon (Portugal). In the lead-up to this event, the Development Centre is pleased to present revamped web pages with public opinion data and analysis and information about the DevCom network's activities.

African Economic Outlook 2007 : launch date is announced

The 2007 edition of the African Economic Outlook (AEO 2007) will be launched for the media on 14 May at the OECD Forum in Paris. The 2007 edition, covering 31 African countries, provides a special focus on water and sanitation.

Structures familiales, transferts et épargne : examen

This study shows a new approach concerning the concept of family in developing countries. This new approach notably takes into account numerous family related constraints placed upon members of a household. This allows us to analyse more effectively the impact of family structures and intra-family money transfers on saving and investment, which are important factors for growth and poverty reduction.
