Evaluating Quality in Educational Facilities

All students have the right to a quality learning environment, however in many countries, the educational process is compromised by poor physical infrastructure. Six international experts share experience in evaluating the quality of educational facilities in the journal of the OECD Programme on Educational Building PEB Exchange (February issue).

As a follow-up to recommendations from the two reviews on China which had an important impact on legislation and policy development in the sector, the OECD is aiming to strengthen research capacity on tertiary education finance and quality. The goal of this activity is a long-term research collaboration between Chinese and Swiss universities and research institutions on policy issues of mutual interest in the domain of education development and governance.

This international Conference on Higher Education is jointly organized by the China National Institute for Educational Research – CNIER and the OECD Programme on Institutional Management in Higher Education – IMHE
It will be held in Yingdong Building, Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China – 9-11 and 14-15 May 2005 and in Xijing University, Xi'an, China – 12-13 May 2005.
