Secretary-General Angel Gurría on the WWF’s Living Planet Report

This week the WWF’s Living Planet Report on the health of the planet and the impact of human activity was published. In the OECD Insights blog , OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría, who contributed the report’s foreword, argues that we need to shift our economies onto greener growth paths.

Call for papers for International Conference on Social Cohesion and Development

The OECD Development Centre is putting out a call for papers in advance of its International Conference on Social Cohesion and Development, which will take place in Paris on 20-21 January 2011. Contributions from the field of economics or other social sciences are invited and the deadline for submitting abstracts is 15 October 2010. Social Cohesion is the theme of the 2011 edition of the Development Centre’s Perspectives on Global Development. Find out more

Terms of reference agreed for updating the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

The 42 governments adhering to the Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises have agreed on the terms of reference  for carrying out an update of the Guidelines. The update aims to ensure their continued role as a leading international instrument for the promotion of responsible business conduct.
