ICCP Committee expands participation of non-governmental stakeholders in its work

The Committee for Information Computer and Communications Policy has approved a framework to govern the participation of non-governmental stakeholders in its work and that of its working parties. This follows up on a decision by the OECD Council to add civil society and the Internet Technical Community to the list of key non-governmental stakeholders in the ICCP’s terms of reference, joining business and trade unions.

Short-term outlook for steel demand exceptionally weak, say industry experts

The global economic downturn is having a severe impact on the steel sector, according to government and industry representatives meeting at a joint OECD Steel Committee/ World Steel Association workshop in Kuala Lumpur. Steel demand, production, and prices have plummeted, major layoffs have been announced, and demand for key raw materials such as iron ore, ferrous scrap, and coal has declined sharply, said OECD Steel Committee Chairman Risaburo Nezu.

OECD Entrepreneurship Review of Denmark

Genetics and Genomics

The OECD Working Party on Biotechnology is developing Council Guidelines on human biobanks and genetic research databases (HBGRDs) through an expert group of member countries. The Guidelines are intended to assist both OECD and non-OECD governments in the development of policies applicable to HBGRDs and to provide guidance for private and public sector HBGRDs.
