Recent Trends in Privatisation: 2001
This review of privatisation trends in OECD and non-OECD countries was published in the July 2002 issue of Financial Market Trends. In 2001, the OECD privatisation activity fell drastically, to its lowest level since the beginning of the 1990s. This was mainly due to the unfavourable market environment that led to cancellation and postponement of sale plans. The review is based on data from the OECD's privatisation database.
