How and to what extent do public administrations in Arab countries allow for the participation of women in decision making and foster a gender balanced environment while considering the specific needs of women within public management? This kick-off meeting on gender in public management addressed these questions because the issue of gender in public management is critical not only for the empowerment of women but also for the promotion of good governance.
