Improving Social Cohesion in Latin America: Making the Most of Globalisation
In his remarks delivered during a Euro-Latin American seminar, Mr. Gurría stressed that while creating immense wealth and opportunities, the global economy has also generated and deepened inequalities, particularly in Latin America where income inequality is the greatest in the world. Therefore, measuring the objective causes of inequality and its impact on social cohesion is a priority for OECD, according to the Secretary-general.
