OECD Ministerial Meeting on the Future of the Internet Economy
In his opening remarks, Angel Gurría reminded the audience that the Internet had already become a leading engine of economic growth, accounting for some 20% of OECD countries’ GDP. He added, however, that there were a number of “pressure points” and that policy-makers needed to act now, both to secure the Internet’s future and to help promote convergence, creativity and confidence.
