Greece - Phase 2: Report on Implementation of the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention
This report evaluates the application of the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention and the 1997 Revised Recommendation in Greece. Among other things, the report recommends that Greece further raise the level of awareness of foreign bribery within the public sector; train public prosecutors and law enforcement authorities on how to combat foreign bribery; undertake further efforts to raise the level of awareness of foreign bribery within the private sector, particularly within the business community and among legal and accounting professionals; enhance its ability to detect and prevent foreign bribery by reminding employees of their legal obligation to report crimes, and by introducing specific measures to protect whistleblowers; take steps as soon as possible to explicitly deny the tax deductibility of bribe payments under the tax law.
