Economic Survey - Belgium 2005: Trends in working time
There is a trend decline in annual hours worked per employee in Belgium, as in most other OECD countries, owing to a rise in labour productivity triggering higher real wages, a rise of female participation and ensuing part-time employment and a rise in the tax burden on labour income.
