The 2009 African Economic Outlook focuses on Technical Skills Development. It also presents a comprehensive analysis of the economic, social and political developments on the continent.

It was presented in Dakar, Senegal at the 44th African Development Bank Annual Meetings, on May 10, and launched in Paris at the Centre d'Accueil de la Presse Etrangère (CAPE), on May 11. The AEO will be presented to the public in Paris, at the 8th International Forum on African Perspectives, on June 5.

Now in its eighth year, the  AEO is the only report on Africa which applies a common analytical framework to every country, every year. Produced by the OECD Development Centre, the African Development Bank and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the AEO is the essential reference on Africa. It benefits from the support of the European Commission.
