Universities, Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Good Practice Workshop, Halle, Germany

The aim of the good practice workshop was to follow up the joint policy development project from LEED Programme of the OECD and the German Federal Ministry of Housing, Construction and Urban Affairs with a practical event to enable HEIs and policy makers from eastern Germany to exchange with each other and with participants from other countries around good practice in HEI entrepreneurship support, namely in entrepreneurship education and in start-up support. A rich and diverse programme also offered participants opportunities to engage in dept-interviews with those behind good practices.

Workshop on network approaches to innovation

The objective of this workshop was to take stock of advances in social networks analysis and explore the possible use of this approach in OECD work, notably on innovation. It sought to present the network approach to economists and stimulate discussion with experts on the analytical potential of this approach for innovation analysis and measurement. International conference on sustainable manufacturing

This conference, to take place in Rochester, NY, USA, will aim to promote the concepts and practices of sustainable manufacturing among diverse businesses, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Leading academics and industry practitioners are expected to be among the speakers and panelists, along with high-level policy makers. The presentations and discussions will help the OECD to identify the needs for the future work in this area.
