OECD/IFP at “The Space Economy Symposium” in Washington DC (13 March 2009)

The OECD IFP presented ongoing research and analysis via teleconference at “The Space Economy Symposium”, held in Washington DC. The event assembled some 100 participants from US industry and administrations. Meeting on the Commercialisation of Space and the Development of Space Infrastructure

The third meeting of the Steering Group of the OECD Futures Project on Commercialisation of Space and the Development of Space Infrastructure took place in Paris on May 7th 2004. The OECD Secretariat presented case studies focussing on some of the promising applications identified in the previous phase of the study. The five case studies presented at the meeting covered four main areas of applications: telecommunications, earth observation, location based services and space transportation.

The purpose of this first meeting of the Steering Group of the OECD Futures Project on the commercialisation of space and the development of space infrastructure was to approve the Project's work plan and to review a draft report on the current state of the space sector.
