Interim economic assessment of Europe, US and Japan - News briefing Tuesday 2 September 2008

Three months ahead of the publication of  the OECD’s  next “Economic Outlook”, Jorgen Elmeskov, acting chief economist, will present an interim assessment of the situation in Europe, the United States and Japan. The briefing will take place at 11.00 a.m. on Tuesday 2 September 2008 at OECD headquarters, 2 rue André Pascal, Paris 75016.

OECD ministers to discuss climate change, trade and global economy at annual meeting, Paris, 4-5 June 2008

The economic impact of climate change, rising food prices and a broad range of other trade, growth and development issues will be discussed at the OECD’s annual ministerial meeting in Paris on 4-5 June 2008. France, represented by Christine Lagarde, Minister for the Economy, Industry and Employment, will chair the meeting, with Mexico and Switzerland as Vice-Chairs. 

OECD-IMF Conference on Structural Reform in Europe

They include keynote speeches by OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría and IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Second Workshop on Composite Indicators of Country Performance 26-27 February 2004

The workshop was organised jointly with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC) in Ispra, Italy and was held in Paris 26-27 February 2004. The main objective of the workshop was to get input for the planned handbook on "Constructing and usine Composite Indicators of Country Performance - A Research and Guide on Useful practices", which is written jointly by OECD and JRC The headlines for the workshop were based on the main sections in the handbook combined with a section on use of composites in policy-making.
