OECD Regional Forum on Trade Facilitation: Challenges and Opportunities for Eastern and Southern Africa

The 2008 OECD Regional Forum on Trade Facilitation was organised by the OECD Secretariat and the South Africa Revenue Service, with the financial support of the European Union. It spurred constructive dialogue between key stakeholders involved in trade facilitation in Eastern and Southern Africa (e.g., trade negotiators, customs officials, private sector representatives and donors), to advance the WTO negotiations on trade facilitation.

The OECD Development Co-operation and Trade Directorates, in collaboration with the Government of Cameroon, are organising a Regional Forum which will take place in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on 27-28 September 2006. The Forum will discuss how to identify countries' trade facilitation needs and priorities and the cost implications of possible measuresand to ensure that technical assistance and capacity building for trade facilitation is effective, operational and coherent.

OECD Global Forum on Trade - Negotiating on Trade Facilitation: Implications for Developing Countries, Colombo, Sri Lanka, 18-19 October 2005

A conference on trade facilitation was held on 18-19 October 2005 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.  The conference, open to all WTO member economies, discussed the implications of ongoing negotiations on trade facilitation for developing countries.
