OECD’s Economic Outlook containing analysis and projections for all OECD countries and other major world economies will be published on Tuesday 25 November 2008. Klaus Schmidt-Hebbel, OECD’s Chief Economist, will present the Economic Outlook at a news conference at 11.00 a.m. at OECD headquarters. The news conference will also be broadcast live on OECD's website.

OECD to release forecasts for US, Japan, Euro area ahead of full Economic Outlook

OECD will release its latest GDP and inflation projections for the Euro area, Japan and the United States at 11.00 a.m. Paris time (10.00 GMT) on Thursday 13 November 2008. The complete Economic Outlook will be presented on 25 November 2008.

The OECD’s latest economic survey of Australia, to be published on Friday 10 October 2008, identifies a number of challenges such as tackling inflation, increasing the number of people in work and raising public investment in infrastructure and education.

On October 15, OECD will publish the 2008 edition of its annual Revenue Statistics, which presents detailed comparable tax data in a common format for all OECD countries from 1965 onwards. The publication will be available to journalists under embargo on the OECD’s password-protected website from Tuesday 14 October, for automatic release at 11.00 a.m. Paris time on Wednesday 15 October.

In the lead-up to joining the European Union, Hungary made significant progress in reducing air and water pollution and protecting its nature and biodiversity. OECD’s latest Review of the Environmental Performance of Hungary recommends that it redouble its efforts, in order to further reduce pollution and use energy and raw materials more efficiently.
