OECD Territorial Reviews: Switzerland 2011  offers a comprehensive assessment of the country's New Regional Policy, implemented following the 2002 review. It examines the role of innovation in Swiss regions and provides insight into how to better optimise the innovation promotion policy instruments put in place by the Confederation and the cantons. At a two-day seminar on the theme of innovation in regions, organised at Coire, Switzerland, the OECD will launch the review and present its conclusions and recommendations.

The international conference on "Innovative Service Delivery:  Meeting the Challenges of Rural Regions”,  co-organised by the OECD and Germany’s Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, was held 3-4 April 2008 at the Dorint Hotel, in Cologne, Germany. It brought together approximately 250 government leaders, policy makers and practitioners to discuss ways to improve service delivery in rural regions and maximise the contribution of service delivery to rural development.
