The annual meeting of the EAP Task Force - first after the 6th "Enviroment for Europe" Ministerial Conference, held in October 2007 in Belgrade (Serbia), took place in Paris at the OECD Conference Centre on 7 and 8 February. High-level officials from environment ministries of OECD and non-member economies discussed the new programme of work and budget of the EAP Task Force for 2008, and elected the new co-Chairs and Bureau of the Task Force.

This was the third meeting of the Group. The Group has been established according to the conclusions of the Ministerial Consultation on Water Management and Investments in Almaty, October 2000. The main objective of the Group is to promote policy reforms in the urban water sector and to elaborate practical approaches for the implementation of the Almaty Guiding Principles for the Reform of the Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Sector in the EECCA.

Following the Almaty Consultations, the EAP Task Force agreed to establish a Group of Senior Officials on Urban Water Sector Reform. Its first meeting is scheduled to take place on 10-11 September 2001 in Kiev, and will gather high-level NIS representatives responsible for urban water supply.
