5th Annual Meeting of the OECD LEED Forum on Partnerships and Local Governance

The meeting focused on Building Strong Partnerships with the Private Sector for Better Jobs and Inclusion. Public sector institutions increasingly understand that working with business at the local level is crucial for promoting quality jobs and social inclusion. Localities are gearing education and training to business needs. Some regions are upgrading local skills demand, working with business to improve productivity thus increasing the availability of good quality jobs. A collective response is required from industry, government, educational institutions, trade unions and community.

Conference on "Efficient Local Development Strategies: Exchange of Experiences between Latin America and the OECD", Bogota, Colombia

This conference was jointly organised by the OECD LEED Programme and the Andean Development Corporation (CAF).  It provided a platform for governments and experts to exchange and learn from good practices in defining, delivering and assessing local development strategies, based on the experience of various cities in Colombia, Latin American and OECD countries.

9th International Forum on Tourism Statistics, Paris (France)

The 9th Forum focussed on the five following themes: i) changes in tourism behaviour and demand; ii) the behaviour and performance of tourism enterprises; iii) measurement issues related to tourist and visitor surveys; iv) new approaches to data collection; and v) the usage of tourism statistics. Conclusions led to new improvements in tourism-related statistics and information.

Capacity Building for Effective Partnerships – An Active Review in Croatia
