OECD’s assessment of Canada’s economy and its youth labour market are very positive. Economic performance has been amongst the best in the OECD and the employment rate amongst 15 – 24 year olds is well above the OECD average. This positive overview comes with warnings and recommendations which will be outlined during a news conference at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday 11 June in the National Press Theatre.

Benefits and Wages (2007) will analyse tax-benefit reforms during the past ten years and summarise their effects on family incomes and work incentives. Seminar on Child Labour and Economic Development

As part of the project on Child Labour, the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs organised a Seminar last 30th of April. Its purpose was to discuss the main conclusions of the OECD report on Child Labour and some case studies carried out by external consultants on this topic.
