OECD Development and Environment Ministries and Agencies joined forces to launch a process to work in partnership with developing countries to integrate environmental factors efficiently into national development policies and poverty reduction strategies. The outcomes of the meeting were an agreed framework for common action, as well as a concrete agenda for integrating climate change adaptation into development co-operation.

The eighth annual meeting of the Regulatory Environmental Programme Implementation Network (REPIN) in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) was held in Tbilisi on 12-13th June 2006. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Georgia, and organised by the OECD/EAP Task Force Secretariat. The meeting gathered about 60 participants.

The seventh annual meeting of the EECCA Regulatory Environmental Programme Implementation Network (REPIN) took place on 17-18 October 2005 in Moscow, Russian Federation. The meeting discussed a draft report Review of Environmental Compliance Assurance system in Armenia; reviewed options for financing environmental compliance assurance systems in EECCA, considered draft Guiding Principles of Effective Environmental Permitting Systems, and assessed progress made since the previous REPIN meeting in September 2004 on implementing other projects of the REPIN work programme.

OECD Workshop on Material Flow Indicators and Related Measurement Tools

This was the second OECD workshop on material flows. It particularly focused on methodological and measurement issues and on the preparation of an MF guidance manual. It was held in Berlin, Germany and was attended by more than 60 participants, including national delegates, international experts and observers from industry and environmental NGOs.

The OECD Project on environmental policy design and firm-level management is exploring a number of issues at the interface between public and private environmental policy. Data have been collected from approximately 4200 firms from 7 countries on issues such as environmental management and performance, as well as the public environmental policy context. Main results were presented at the OECD Conference on Public Environmental Policy and the Private Firm. Presentations can be downloaded from the agenda. A summary record is also available.
