Ministers of Environment will meet on 28 – 29 April  at OECD headquarters in Paris to address the challenges and opportunities of tackling climate change and the links between global competitiveness and environmental policies.

EAP Task Force met in Paris on 7-8 February 2008

The annual meeting of the EAP Task Force - first after the 6th "Enviroment for Europe" Ministerial Conference, held in October 2007 in Belgrade (Serbia), took place in Paris at the OECD Conference Centre on 7 and 8 February. High-level officials from environment ministries of OECD and non-member economies discussed the new programme of work and budget of the EAP Task Force for 2008, and elected the new co-Chairs and Bureau of the Task Force.

OECD Workshop on Environmental Innovation and Global Markets - Berlin, Germany

The OECD is currently exploring the links between environmental innovation and globalisation. The main output of this project will be a report, “Environmental Innovation and Global Markets”, based on interviews with companies and government officials in 8 OECD countries (Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, United States) and in China.  This workshop provides a forum for that dialogue. The outcomes of the workshop discussions will serve to finalise the policy recommendations in the report. 

OECD welcomes the new report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on Mitigation

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) today released the Summary for Policy Makers of its Working Group III report on the Mitigation of Climate Change. The OECD welcomes this important study, which highlights that there is significant room to cost-effectively reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. OECD experts have actively contributed to the development of the IPCC assessment and the OECD is working to support countries to advance policies that will realise this potential in a way that is least-cost.

OECD Workshop on Regional Trade Agreements and the Environment
