The Centre for Private Sector Development in Istanbul has provided a central platform for co-operation between the OECD and transition economies on private sector development policies. The Istanbul Centre is now managed under the responsibility of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs www.mfa.gov.tr/.

Turkey is moving fast to capture the benefits of an enterprise culture and to stimulate the dynamic small and medium enterprise sector though starting from a low base due to past instabilities in the macroeconomic and political environment. This report, published by the OECD and the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE), attempts to outline a practical framework for the development and financing of dynamic small and medium enterprises as an important subset of the SME sector of Turkey’s economy. This report is also available in Arabic, Russian and Turkish.
